Nursery
The nursery provision at Horrabridge Primary and Nursery School is based within the main school building and caters for children from age 2 upwards.
It is open during term time with morning and afternoon sessions from Monday to Friday. Sessions run from 8.50am – 11.50am and then 11.50am – 2.50pm, the latter including lunch time.
The Nursery is led by two highly qualified Nursery Managers: Sarah Pascall and Karen Scourfield, who share the role across the week. They are supported at different times by experienced Nursery practitioners.
The Nursery has its own well-resourced classroom base including free-flow access to an outside area. It is a bright and stimulating learning environment where children feel welcomed, happy, safe and secure.
The nursery provision is overseen by Miss Emily Friend, FS & KS1 Leader, helping to ensure that there is consistency in planning and progression for the children in nursery. With the nursery based next to the reception class, there are opportunities for shared experiences, such as visits and visitors, as well as times where the two groups can mix for break, lunch and continuous provision in the classroom. This close link means that the transition from the nursery to reception is as smooth as possible for the children as they are familiar with the staff, classroom environment and the routines of the class and school.
Parents wishing to enroll their child in our nursery should initially contact the school office to enquire about availability of spaces. Parents are welcome to arrange ‘Stay and Play’ sessions in order to help settle their child(ren), if they wish.
